Stunning late 19th-century majolica pedestal compote featuring the iconic fox-and-goose hunt scene. The vibrant emerald green well is surrounded by a striking raspberry red border with raised floral medallions and a fluted, hand-glazed pedestal base with ombré green detailing.
Measures 9.25” diameter x 4.5” tall. Marked “1089” on underside. Most likely Belgium or French.
Wear consistent with age and a couple of small edge rubs. You can see age wear on the animal details. (Which I personally love.) A collector’s dream and a true statement for display or use.
